John Pendal

This year popular presenter John Pendal returns from Britain for his seventh consecutive Thunder in the Mountains.

In 2003 John became the 25th person (and the first ever Brit) to win the annual "International Mr. Leather" contest in Chicago. He spent his IML year traveling full-time to leather events in 28 cities across America, Europe, and Canada.

After stepping down as IML, he become a trustee for the Spanner Trust from May 2004 to May 2008 and served as its chairman from September 2005 to December 2006. The Spanner Trust is an organization which is lobbying to change archaic laws in the UK to make consensual SM legal, even when an injury might occur. It also serves to provide assistance to those Brits whose BDSM activities have landed them in legal hot water.

John has traveled extensively for the last decade teaching SM workshops, giving speeches, serving as master of ceremony for various events, and doing stand up comedy. He has presented SM classes at Minnesota Leather Pride, Kinkfest in London, Palm Springs Leather Pride, Leather Camp in Wichita, Mr Leatherman Toronto, Spring in the South, Tribal Fire, SINSations in Leather and twice at Inferno (the annual SM run of the Chicago Hellfire Club).

He received two Pantheon of Leather awards in 2004: the International Award and the "Community Choice Award for Men." He delivered the closing keynote speech at the Leather Leadership Conference 11 in Minneapolis, April 2007. John has been working as a comedian full-time since 2010, trying to make vanilla audiences laugh whilst always wearing his leather vest and wrist cuffs.
